A Journey from Seven to Redemption

When I was seven, my innocent proclamation to my Chatty Kathy doll set the stage for a lifelong journey. “That’s IT!” I declared, typing out the best-selling book title, “Kids Have Rights Too.” In hindsight, my mother probably just asked me to clean my room. But little did I know that this childish declaration would serve as a prophetic call to my inner soul. The dream of writing something profound and world-changing lingered, shaping the course of my life.

As an adult, the church was my refuge during the aftermath of childhood sexual abuse. However, during a soul-ripping divorce, the same church became a porcupine of well-intentioned but judgmental “scriptural advice.” I was the minister’s wife, bearing the weight of pain behind a smile and scripture, hiding the struggles to maintain an image of unwavering leadership.

Yet, the breaking point came when stroke-like symptoms manifested, and I woke up with a resolute “Enough!” The journey to rediscover and reclaim my identity in Christ began.

Early Challenges: Navigating the Uncharted Territory

While crawling on the road to recovery, I noticed a gap in resources for those facing divorce within the Christian community. Despite the plethora of books on divorce, there was little on healing from both the separation and the judgment of church peers. The struggle to rebuild identity as God’s “divorced” child was real, and I found myself yearning for guidance on my continued purpose in His Kingdom.

Our Mission: Rise, Reclaim, Redeem and Step Out

Like many, I refuse to be confined by the typical mainstream church’s anti-divorce narrative. Pressing my face like flint into the sandstorm of divorce, I rediscovered the Cross, embracing my remembered and redeemed identity as His daughter. My mission is clear: to encourage, inspire, and ignite divorced individuals in the church to rise and take their place in the destiny God has set before them.

This mission is rooted in the belief that God isn’t done with us just because our marriages ended. I’ve walked through fear, shame, loss, and depression, thinking my dreams shattered with the judge’s stamp on that divorce certificate. If this sounds familiar, know that you are not alone. I want to partner with you to rise, reclaim, and redeem your identity, stepping into your call in Christ.
